Prayer requests, announcements, and/or schedule changes need to be submitted by phone message (302-539-7468), in writing, or by e-mail (angela.rodkey@oceanviewchurchofchrist.net) by Tuesday mornings for the Wednesday bulletin and by Friday mornings for the Sunday Bulletin. Any late items will be included in the next publication. Thank you. |
| Food Pantry |
The food pantry is in need of spaghetti sauce, noodles and canned meat. Please be mindful of expiration dates; we can not distribute expired items. Place items in the box in the back of the auditorium. If you have a food need or know someone that does, call the office at 302-539-7468. |
| Military Outreach |
Marked boxes are in the back of the auditorium for: male/female toiletries, baby wipes, hand sanitizer, sunscreen, lip balm, bandaids, Visine, foot powder, cough drops, pain relief (Advil, Tylenol), packaged snacks, small games, balls, playing cards, and flea collars (to keep off sand fleas). |
| Children's Card Ministry |
There is a list of children in the congregation on the back shelf, with space for their address, birthday, etc. Please check to make sure that the information is correct; some children have missing data. Also, please add any children who are missing from this list. |
| Christian School Support |
You can support Smyrna Christian School every time you use 'GoodSearch.com' or 'GoodShop.com'. Enter Smyrna Christian School as the charity that you want to support and then use the Internet as usual. What a great way to easily support a wonderful non-profit organization. Spread the word and tell all your friends. |
| Prayer Chain Groups |
If you signed up to be on the prayer chain list, get your copy from the back shelf. Please check your phone number and e-mail address to make sure it is correct. Contact Dee Bennett with any changes. |
| Habitat for Humanity |
Sussex County Habitat For Humanity ReStore, open to the public, accepts donations from individuals and builders of new, surplus, or gently used appliances, building materials and furniture for re-sale to the public. Prices are well below retail and all profits from ReStore will be used to build more houses with county families. Donors and volunteers can call 302-855-1156 or email restore@sussexcountyhabitat.org. Store hours are Wednesday & Saturday 10 AM — 3 PM and Thursday 10 AM — 1 PM. |
| Prayer List Updates |
Because God acts when his people pray, we encourage every Christian to pray for those on the prayer list. To keep this list current, we appreciate a weekly update on the condition of each person on the list. After two weeks without an update, the person's name will be removed. |
| In-Home Communion |
The elders and deacons recognize the importance of the Lord's Supper, so they are glad to bring it to any sick or shut-in member who requests it. To make your request known, contact Linwood Marvel, 302-934-6698. |
| Card Ministry |
Join the OVCC Card Ministry. This ministry mails cards to those that are new at church, those that are sick, those that have lost loved ones, and those that are in need of encouragement. If you join, you will periodically receive an email with the person's name, their need, and their address. To join this Ministry, contact Susan Timmons. Thanks! |
